Sports play role in healing process for Wounded Warriors

Tim McDonough doesn’t like to talk about the explosion that changed his life.

It was 2005 and McDonough was in Afghanistan. The price he paid for defending his country was severe. It consisted of nine surgeries, post-traumatic stress disorder and a brain injury.

Once on top of the world as a flight crew chief in the Air Force, McDonough found himself in a world where each day was a struggle, where the weight of feeling disappointed and worthless became almost too much to handle.
