In addition to broadcasting your favorite games, Windjammers will have Football Specials on appetizers and drinks all season long. Draft 48-ounce beer pitchers will be sold for just $8. Bud Light, Miller Lite, Yuengling and Coors Light are available.
Football specials will run all season long, all day Saturday and Sunday for college games, as well as Monday and Thursday night for NFL.
Windjammers will bring out special game day appetizers including fried mac and cheese bites, fried pickle spears and fried corn nuggets, all served with Jammer sauce or jalapeño ranch. Each fried dish is $8 or you can order a sampler of all three for $10.
College football started Aug. 28 and NFL kicks off Sept. 9.
Windjammers mixologists are working on their own drink recipes named after colleges such as University of Florida and University of Alabama for game days.
The operation has expanded downstairs at The SandBar, which has been open since March. This is the latest in the season that it has stayed open.
Zack Potts, a manager at Windjammers for nearly three years, said in past years the downstairs bar would only be open a few days a year – the busy days and weekends on the beach, such as Fourth of July.
“This year it’ll stay open until it gets too cold to bear,” Potts said.
The Movie on the Beach series that Windjammers hosted all summer was a success and it might be brought back in September.
Windjammers will continue karaoke Wednesday nights and will host live music throughout the week. Stay tuned to the Windjammers Facebook page for updates on specials and upcoming events.
The coastal restaurant serves food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. During football season the bar will be open and serving appetizers from 10 a.m. until the game is over.
