Why no vacation rentals?

Tourism tax revenues for March were down by nearly 53%, and April and May are expected to be down by about 90%, according to Tourist Development Director Julie White.

She said she expects a loss of as much as $1.5 million in tax revenue, out of a typically less than $4 million budget.

COVID-19 has been costly to tourism, one of Navarre’s primary industries, and the continued statewide ban on new vacation rentals for the foreseeable future is perpetuating the problem. There’s no certain date listed when the ban will lift.
