More than 40% of all voters in Santa Rosa County had already cast their ballot for President by Tuesday.
This year is part of a growing trend in voting, said Supervisor of Elections Tappie Villane.
“In 2016 is when we actually saw the shift of people going to vote early,” she said. “In 2016, 63% of the people that voted either voted by mail or went to an early voting site.”
In the 2016 presidential election, Santa Rosa County voters turned out 68% of registered voters in total.
