Tourism making recovery

Santa Rosa County’s tourist tax saw a 12.4% increase in revenues over this time last year, breaking a COVID-19 fueled slump in revenues.

After hitting a historic low of less than $65,000 in April, taxes collected on overnight visitors were up to 10 times that, more than $650,000, putting the county back on par with pre-COVID status.

If this trend continues to carry into the last two months of the fiscal year, Santa Rosa County will break relatively even, bringing in more than $3 million for tourism promotion.
