If my kids were here, they would tell you I can be structured. That is a euphemism for rigid, at times, and bordering on harsh when I am displeased. To be fair, I am also generous, loving and kind.
But there’s a reason I’m telling you this other than to make you feel better about your own parenting. It’s because one topic I have always been “harsh” about is succumbing to peer pressure.
From the time they were very young, I talked to them about the importance of being themselves, making their own decisions and holding themselves accountable for the consequences of their actions.
