The Beacon is excited to be hosting its own Mardi Gras Car Parade Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.
The assisted living community in Gulf Breeze invites friends of The Beacon to participate by decorating their floats, aka cars, and riding in a loop around The Beacon.
“Our residents and our King and Queen will be sitting outside on their thrones, wearing their robes and crowns and hoping to catch throws from your float,” said Becky McCaa, director of sales.
They will serve food and drinks at the parade and saxophone player Jim Andrews will be entertaining.
If you would like to participate, please contact Becky McCaa by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org so the staff can put together the lineup of floats.
The Beacon is also doing a fundraiser for the American Heart Association this month. Residents, families and staff are purchasing $1.00 hearts and putting a name on them to honor someone. The hearts will be posted at the front desk in the lobby.
“We are open for tours and since we are working on heart healthy this month anyone touring gets a pedometer!” McCaa said.
The friendly and dedicated staff at The Beacon have put numerous protocols in place to keep everyone in their community as safe as possible during this pandemic.
“We’re just striving to make 2021 a better year,” Executive Director Andrea Myers said.
The Beacon combines the comforts of home and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that a compassionate, around-the-clock staff is fully committed to serving resident needs.
Located right off U.S. Highway 98, The Beacon has capacity for 120 residents, and 10 nurses are on staff to provide the best possible care 24 hours a day.
The Beacon offers spacious studio and one-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, private baths and courtyard views. Personalized security response systems are available to residents, as are physical therapy and exercise programs.
Other amenities include card rooms, a movie theater, a putting green and a salon and spa.
The Beacon also offers restaurant-style dining three times a day, and a wellness team is available where staff members work with residents, the family and medical professionals to develop customized-care programs.
Concierge service is available as well for scheduling medical appointments, activities, family visits and for accommodating other needs of the residents.
The Beacon wants to show their residents honor, respect and dignity and preserve as much as they can.
The Beacon also has a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of move-in if your loved one decides that this community is not the right fit.
One of the other options offered by The Beacon is memory care, which is a specialized area of assisted living. Residents dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia receive care beyond what traditional assisted-living facilities can provide.
The Beacon at Gulf Breeze’s memory care program addresses the needs of the whole person, taking into account emotional, spiritual, mental, social needs and physical symptoms.
The Beacon has a program for their residents called ALLE Learning, which promotes the idea that you’re never too old to continue learning. This program will help retain memory and keep the residents’ brains active.
The Beacon staff is committed to providing peace of mind to families, knowing their loved ones will be taken care of and the staff will honor them as if they were their own family members. They put their residents’ health and safety first.
The Beacon is now accepting tours while following proper protocols.
