The Beacon holds bake sale to raise money for Alzheimer’s Walk
The Beacon has a team, Beacon Seniors, who will be walking in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 2 in Pensacola.
“Our Memory Care unit is home to many people who have Alzheimer’s. We see the damage this disease does to them and their families. We are raising money to donate on the Walk day,” Outreach Coordinator Becky McCaa said.

This Beacon raised $350 at their bake sale Aug. 24 for their donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. Baked goods were donated from various members of community.
“We had baked goods donated from the Krewe of Marrionetts, Santa Rosa Women’s Club, Regency Hospice, Assisted Living Locators and Byron & Amy who are chefs here and others,” McCaa said.
The residents enjoyed smelling the baked goods and of course eating them, McCaa added.
The next fundraiser will be a Pet Contest with pets pictures being posted on the Beacon Facebook page and here in the Navarre Press. Also, the winners will get bandannas that read “I Raised Money for Alzheimer’s”. Go to The Beacon Facebook page and check out the fur babies raising money.
Anyone who wants to support this cause by walking with The Beacon team or donating, please contact Becky McCaa at 850-934-4306 or email Becky.McCaa@thebeaconseniorliving.com.
“We welcome you to stop by and take a tour of our beautiful community and bring your donation,” McCaa said.
