A 25-year-old Milton man is in the Santa Rosa County Jail after allegedly firing 5-6 gunshots into a home on John Hamm Road just after midnight.
One of the shots hit a woman in the house in the back, according to Aubrey Jessie Funderburg’s Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
When deputies found Funderburg, they talked to a passenger in his truck at the time of the drive-by shooting. The passenger said the suspect drove by the house where the shooting took place several times before getting out of the truck and arguing with a male at the home, the report said.
Funderburg initially denied knowing the man at the house and later said that the other man was the shooter, not him.
He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
All of the charges are felonies.
The incident was one of two shootings the SRSO responded to early Thursday morning. Two were shot during the second shooting, with one dying, according to an initial press release. A suspect is in custody, the release said.
