Pinned on the Twitter account of Marc Ryan Struck is a tweet that mixes a small slice of seriousness with a ton of humor.
The tweet reads: “After very little thought and consideration, I would like to announce I will be forgoing the 2020 NFL Draft and returning to Huntingdon for my senior season. No interviews. Please respect my decision.”
Struck was never bound for the NFL to begin with, so it wasn’t a tough decision. But there is real motivation for the former Navarre standout as he thinks ahead to his senior season with the NCAA Division III Hawks.
It is motivation stemming from last November when Huntingdon walked off the football field after a 42-6 loss to 2018 NCAA Division III national champion Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Struck was thrilled the Hawks advanced to the second round of the playoffs, stunning 19th-ranked Berry to get there. But the feeling of accomplishment soon turned to added motivation in the wake of a season-ending loss in Texas.
