Start of school year in Santa Rosa County pushed into late August

Scheduled to begin Aug. 10, the start of the 2020-21 school year in Santa Rosa County has been pushed back two weeks because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Superintendent Tim Wyrosdick said in a press conference Tuesday afternoon at the district administrative office in Milton that students will not return to school until Aug. 24.

“It can give us a better insight into what takes place with COVID-19,” Wyrosdick said.
