During the spring game in May, Dante Wright didn’t seem to miss a beat from where he left off a year ago as an integral part of the Navarre Raiders’ offense.
Wright rushed for a pair of touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass as well, a reminder that he has the talent and versatility to be one of the biggest offensive assets for the Raiders this fall.
The soft-spoken rising junior is humble when it comes to talking about his abilities on the football field and is quick to deflect all credit to his teammates.
“It just shows how good the blocking is on this team,” Wright said. “It’s not really me. I just have to find the holes to run through.”
But make no mistake – Wright deserves his share of credit as well. He is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he played a pivotal role in helping the Raiders go 12-2 and advance to the state semifinals for the second time in program history.
