Xayvion Thomas’ Twitter feed is filled with posts about the various college camps he’s been attending. They are seemingly nonstop for the past few weeks now.
Invested in getting noticed by recruiters, he’s also putting forth the effort to mold himself into the best player he can be for the start of Navarre’s football season.
A three-star recruit versatile enough to play on either side of the ball—he’s known for defense but has shown he can be an offensive threat as well – Thomas proves hard work matters and is poised to be one of the top defensive players in the state this season.
“I never take it for granted,” Thomas said. “I work hard all the time, to be the best at everything I do. If you keep working, good things will come.”
Thomas, set to be a key piece of the secondary, is coming off a breakout junior season. He made 53 tackles last year while also recovering two fumbles and recording a couple of sacks.
But he had the opportunity to run the ball out of the backfield in the spring and expects to play at wide receiver as well, factoring into an offense that looks to be as balanced as ever.
