Callan Taylor spends her summers playing travel softball. And the experience has paid off for the rising senior at Navarre, preparing her not only for the high school season with the Raiders but for the college level as well.
“I really like playing travel because you get to play with players from other schools,” Taylor said. “You get to see how good the competition is from schools around here and around the country.”
Taylor is in her third season with the Pensacola-based West Florida Elite, which opened its season over Memorial Day weekend.
Competition is fierce and tends to bring out the best in players. Taylor said that aspect is the biggest challenge of playing in the summer.
