Cade Taylor and Ryan Cocker are playing college baseball next year, but Thursday night they had one last chance to experience life as high school athletes.
The two Navarre standouts competed for the East in the Subway All-Star Game at the University of West Florida’s Jim Spooner Field in a game that ended with the West rolling to a 14-4 victory.
But those numbers on the scoreboard mattered little when all was said and done. This game, played on a muggy night in Pensacola, was about more than just a win or a loss.
“My goal was just to have fun tonight,” Taylor said. “I feel like I accomplished that. We didn’t get the win, but that’s okay. It’s an all-star game. It’s about having fun.”
