With only four returning starters, Navarre’s defense is short on experience heading into the football season.
That’s where great leadership comes into play and senior linebacker Cade Taylor is ready to help provide it for a Raiders team with high expectations.
“You definitely have to set a good example by working hard,” Taylor said. “The seniors on the team last year did a good job of that and we know what it takes to lead and to be successful.”
Taylor racked up 57 tackles and registered four sacks last season for a Navarre team that went 12-2 and advanced to the state semifinals for the second time in program history.
While he’s happy with what he accomplished last year, he appears to be raising the bar even higher.
“I want to improve my pass rush and get more tackles and interceptions this year,” Taylor said.
On a sunny and muggy July morning inside Bennett C. Russell Stadium, Taylor is fine-tuning the skills that will allow him to take his defensive game to another level.
