Killian Casey has worked as a coach with the Navarre YMCA Wahoo swim team all through high school.
The former Navarre High swimmer graduated in May but opted to spend her summer with the team again. It’s something she looks forward to.
“I have a passion for working with kids,” Casey said. “I love working with the different age groups. They are all crazy and fun. They brighten my day every day.”
The program is as popular as ever, with more than 100 on the team for at least the third consecutive year.
There are 124 officially this season, ranging in age from 4 to 14, and there are practices every morning as well as in the evenings. Zach Sutton, also a former Raider swimmer, helps with the practices at night. Sarah Johnson helps both in the mornings and evenings. Jake Losquadro, Harrison Dorsey, Courtney Rodrigues and Josh VanDrunen are coaches as well. All volunteer their time to help.
