Hunter Wallace now has a better idea of just how serious soccer is in England.
The freshman was one of several from Navarre who made a trip overseas during spring break to play games and train. Her father, Craig, the director of football and recruitment for the International Football Institute, heads up the opportunity for athletes. He’s been doing so for several years now.
“I was able to experience with my own eyes how seriously soccer is taken over there,” Hunter said. “It really gave a different perspective on how hard they push their players to become the greatest they can be.”
The intensity of the training is on another level compared to the United States. They were trained by David Bailey, the head scout for Manchester United.
“The training was top class in my book,” Ethan Green said. “Getting trained by the Man U coach was very intimidating but at the same time, made sure you were completely focused.”
Craig Wallace played pro soccer in England and understands the intensity and seriousness of it all.
