Seven Raiders set to play in Subway All-Star Game

Navarre will be well-represented in the Subway All-Star Football Game Friday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Jordan Williams, Xavier Fernandez, Bo Hering, Lee Jones, Marc Struck, Lamarcus Smith and AJ Neal are the Raiders’ representatives on the East squad will get a chance to showcase their skills one final time in a game featuring senior standouts from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.

Navarre quarterback Caine Adamson was selected to the team as well but will not play after being injured in the state semifinal loss to Lake Gibson Dec. 2 at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

Adamson threw for 1,452 yards and 14 touchdowns his senior year with the Raiders.

Williams came out for football this past fall for the first time in his career and made quite an impact at wide receiver, catching 42 passes for 582 yards and six touchdowns.

Neal and Smith helped anchor an offensive line that helped the Raiders score 40 or more eight times and roll up nearly 4,000 rushing yards.

Hering and Fernandez were instrumental to the defensive success of Navarre, which went 12-2 and reached the state semifinals for the second time in program history.

Hering led the team in tackles with 104 and also racked up four sacks. Fernandez came through with 61 tackles and eight sacks. He picked off one pass.

Jones rose to the occasion as well time and again, tallying 65.5 tackles and picking off one pass. He was also a force on special teams, blocking three kicks.

Struck stepped up for the defense as well, tallying 45 tackles and causing three fumbles.
