There was blood on her hands and sweat on her face, but there were no tears for Navarre’s Seira Sanchez Thursday afternoon at the Andrews Invitational in Gulf Breeze.
Sanchez, running with all-out effort on a warm April afternoon, fell hard to the surface of the track as she came across the finish line in the 300-meter hurdles. But the fall didn’t stop her from finishing third in the event as she helped the Raiders tie for sixth.
The senior crossed the finish line in 51.49 and was pleased with how it all worked out.
“I felt good the whole race,” Sanchez said. “My ankle gave out on the last hurdle, but I’m still confident and happy with the results.”
