Matt Cronin and the Arkansas Razorbacks are moving on in the NCAA tournament. The Razorbacks won their regional opener Friday, rolling past Oral Roberts 10-2 at Baum Stadium.
The former Navarre standout did not pitch but is having a stellar season as a reliever and is likely to see time out of the bullpen at some point in the tourney. He has notched a team-best 11 saves and is 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA. The sophomore has appeared in 19 games, allowing 13 runs on 17 hits and striking out 47 batters.
Arkansas continued its winning ways Saturday, topping Southern Mississippi 10-2 Saturday night to advance to the regional final for the 13th time in program history.
The Razorbacks take aim at a regional championship today when it takes on either Southern Mississippi or Dallas Baptist. A win sends Arkansas to the Super Regional.
