Navarre’s baseball team dropped two games by slim margins last week and fell to 5-8 for the season. The Raiders outhit both opponents, but managed just three runs combined in the two contests, losing 2-1 to Southside out of Alabama and falling 4-2 to area powerhouse Tate.
Just a few days after his first win, Peter Pyle was on the mound again for his first ever varsity start against Southside from Rainbow City, AL.
For the second game in a row, Tyler Rebber blasted a homer. The big swing came in the second inning and gave Navarre a 1-0 lead.
That score held up until the top of the sixth. The visiting Panthers had only four hits in the game, but three of those came in the inning, and they took a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish.
Pyle pitched well giving up just three hits in 5 1/3 innings of work.
