Navarre saw its five-game win streak snapped Thursday in a 4-2 loss to West Florida. One night earlier, the Raiders rolled to an 11-3 win over Fort Walton Beach.
Navarre went into its road game against the Vikings looking to extend their win streak to five.
Things were not looking good for the Raiders early when they gave up a three spot to the home team in the second. Navarre rebounded and rolled to a convincing win over Fort Walton Beach.
When the Raiders came to bat in the sixth they were still trailing by those three runs.
Andre Macedo was first up and lined a single to left. Tyler Rebber and Ryan Cocker followed with singles of their own and the bags were full. Zach Gonzalez’s grounder plated the first Raider run, but there would be many more to follow. Angel Beltran drove in two with his timely hit to right. Macedo and Rebber both then picked up their second hits of the inning. Gonzalez then lined a triple to right that brought two more Raiders home.
By the time Fort Walton recorded the third out of the inning, Navarre had sent 15 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs to take a commanding lead.
Peter Pyle picked up his first ever varsity victory.
