Navarre’s football team hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Washington Friday night for a 7 p.m. game.
The Raiders enter the showdown riding the high of a 56-35 win over Pensacola Catholic in their season opener. Navarre is ranked eighth in the state in 6A and its win was fueled by a potent rushing attack.
The Wildcats are also 1-0 after topping Milton 45-26. Joe Slattery threw for 279 yards and four touchdown passes, with two of his passes finding the hands of Mystikal McGhee. Eric Goldsmith returned a punt for a score.
Navarre defeated Washington 36-20 last season.

Chris Williams: Picked up 90 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns.
Sage Chambers: Completed seven of his 13 passes for 79 yards and also rushed for 12 yards.
Cade Taylor: Racked up eight tackles against the Crusaders to lead the defense, which gave up 228 yards but managed to keep Catholic off the scoreboard in the fourth quarter.
