Last week was a tough one for the Navarre volleyball team. The Raiders, as has been the case all year, played hard but simply couldn’t nail down a victory.
They dropped all three of their games, including losing to District 1-7A opponent Tate for the second time this season.
Yet, first-year head coach Michelle Lee remains encouraged and talked about the positives she saw last week from her team.
“What I take from those games is that the girls continue to grow and mature as volleyball players,” Lee said. “They continue to work hard.”
Navarre opened last week with a match against county rival Gulf Breeze on Sept. 29. The Raiders won the first game but couldn’t maintain the momentum as they lost the next three to a Dolphins team that has lost only one match all season.
Still, Lee was thrilled with her team’s gutsy effort.
“It was awesome to see us play so hard,” Lee said. “You hear so many good things about a program like Gulf Breeze and for us to not give up and keep fighting, is a pretty good feeling.”
