Raiders reflect on swimming careers

Senior year comes up quick. The seniors on Navarre’s swim team will tell you as much.

“As a freshman, you are thinking senior year is 20 years from now. Then you snap your fingers and wonder what just happened,” Jake Losquadro said.

Josh VanDrunen can’t believe it’s here already either.

“It’s that freshman mentality. You think I have four years. That’s a long time. And now we’re seniors,” VanDrunen said.

The seniors on Navarre’s swim team competed in their final home meet Thursday at the YMCA, taking on Pace. It was a chance to compete, to reflect on memorable moments and look ahead to the final weeks of a season that has flown by.

Tyler Richardson has been swimming the last two years for the Raiders and said the experience has been worthwhile.

“It’s been a lot of fun but had had its ups and downs,” Richardson said. “This can be a difficult sport for the weak of heart. It takes a lot of work. It’s all been worth it, though.”
