Navarre’s senior night was spoiled by Milton.
The Raiders fell 52-44 to the Panthers last Tuesday after nearly rallying for a victory. They trailed 33-31 going into the fourth, fell behind by seven and then cut the lead to two before Milton pulled away for good.
Two free throws by Killian Casey cut the Milton lead to 41-39 with 3:43 to play, but Navarre was unable to get any closer.
“We had a lot of turnovers. All of their points were off our mistakes,” first-year head coach Abby Fogg said. “We beat ourselves tonight.”
Casey scored 16 points to pave the way and was one of three seniors recognized before the game. Arleigh East and Khyla Gray are also seniors. East finished with six and Gray, playing basketball for the first time in high school, finished with two points.
“It’s a great group of girls,” Fogg said. “I’m going to miss all three. I hate that we weren’t able to get a win for them.”
Navarre led 11-6 after one quarter but trailed 21-20 at halftime. The Raiders fell behind by six in the third before trimming the deficit back down to two.
“We have that fight in us,” Fogg said. “We’ve seen it all season.”
