Navarre’s football team will put its impressive road win streak on the line Friday night when it takes on Pine Forest at 7 p.m. in Pensacola.
The Raiders have won their last 13 road games and 24 of their last 25 games overall in the regular season. They are 3-0 after topping Choctaw 41-24 last Friday.
Pine Forest is coming off a 20-19 win over Gulf Breeze and is 2-0. The Eagles defeated the Dolphins on the last play of the game.
Navarre overcame a 17-14 halftime deficit to take out the Indians. The Raiders scored 24 points in the second half, including two touchdowns off blocked punts.
“We were real aggressive and made some adjustments from the first half,” Navarre head coach Jay Walls said. “We always try to put pressure on the punter and made some big plays in that area. It’s something to build on.”
Navarre and Pine Forest are squaring off for the first time since 2010 when the Raiders defeated the Eagles 20-18 in the playoffs, avenging a 33-13 loss from earlier in the season.
Walls said he expects his team to be tested.
“We have to go on the road to play a physical and athletic team,” Walls said. “It’s a big game for us.”
