Navarre’s boys soccer team made quite a statement in its opening week of the season. The Raiders won a pair of games and saw their third opportunity for a win washed by rain Saturday.
Navarre opened the week Wednesday with a 7-2 win over Escambia. The Raiders dominated from start to finish and were led by Jack Patching and Mason Fralick. They scored two goals apiece.
Andy Arevalo-Mejia, Ethan Green and Caleb Long all added goals in the win.
The Raiders faced South Walton at home Thursday and earned a 3-2 victory over the Seahawks.
Patching punched in his third goal of the season while Kobe Banks and Joel Recinos added one goal apiece as the Raiders improved to 2-0.
Navarre was scheduled to play Tate Saturday at home, but a steady downpour of rain forced the teams to postpone the game to a later date.
Navarre is coming off a year in which it finished as the district runner-up. The appearance in the title game was the Raiders’ first since 2015, when they won the crown.
