It was obvious from the start of the District 1-4A tournament opener which team was the top seed and which was the bottom seed.
As soon as the opening whistle blew, the Raiders were in attack mode and rolled to an 8-0 win over Escambia Friday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.
The Raiders had two shots on goal in the first minute and although they did not score on these forays, the Gator defense was clearly shaken.
Navarre head coach Rob Simon substituted freely, including using JV players just called up to the varsity squad.
However, nothing he did could slow down the offense. Rosie Martino and Jessika Seward shared the goal keeper duties and neither recorded a save.
The Raiders scored the first goal at the eight-minute mark.
Anakah Madril moved in close to the goal and found Jennifer Seward with a pass. Seward scored at close range and gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
The Raiders did not score again until the 17th minute when Seward outran the Gator defense down the left sideline.
