Navarre’s volleyball team has been in every match it has played. The Raiders traveled to Niceville on Sep 6 to take on the Eagles, hoping the trend of playing close matches continued. However, the Eagles had other ideas. Using their height advantage and powerful net play, the Eagles dominated the match and won in three games.
The Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first game. A block by Tessa Hendricks ended the Eagle rally. However, the Raiders were unable to put points together and the Eagles began their next barrage. Samantha MacFarland and Hendricks were outstanding together. MacFarland provided perfect sets and Hendricks pounded the ball over the net. However, the Eagles showed off their defense by making big blocks. By the time the Eagles had their next side-out, they had built an 8-2 lead.
The Raiders were very much in the game, despite the score. There were long rallies with each team keeping play alive. At the next side out, the Eagles led 10-3.
