Raiders finish as district runner-up

Navarre’s quest for its first district championship since 2015 came to an end Thursday night in a 6-2 loss to Niceville on The Hill.

The Raiders led 2-1 in the fourth before the Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Four more runs in the fifth put the game away.

Navarre (14-13) finished with five hits, including two by Cade Taylor, who also drove in a run. Niceville (24-2) tallied nine hits.

Despite the loss, Navarre will play in the regional after finishing as the district runner-up. The Raiders will play at Pace Tuesday night in a 7 p.m. 7A regional quarterfinal. The Patriots won their district with an 18-4 win over Tate.

Navarre and Pace played in the regular season Feb. 22. The Raiders were competitive in a 12-9 loss to the Patriots (20-6).
