Raiders fall in latest AP football poll

Navarre dropped one spot in this week’s Florida High School 6A Associated Press football poll as it fell to seventh.

Tied for sixth with St. Augustine last week, the Raiders slipped one spot despite knocking off Pace 49-35 in its District 2-6A opener last week. Miami Central is still the No. 1 team in 6A, receiving 11 first-place votes.

Navarre, which has been ranked in every poll this season,  is 5-0 overall and has won 26 of its last 27 games in the regular season. The Raiders will host an Escambia team that is 3-2 and picked up two votes in the others receiving votes category in this week’s poll.  The Raiders and Gators played twice last year and both games were decided by five points or less.

The Homecoming game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.
