The Navarre Raiders baseball team traveled to Bonifay last Tuesday to face Holmes County. The trip was made even longer due to the fact that the game went extra innings. It was worth it though, because Navarre came away with their third straight win, rolling to an 11-3 victory.
Navarre held a 3-0 lead after five innings but Holmes Co. scored two in the sixth to pull within one. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, the Blue Devils cleanup hitter sent the game into extra innings with a homerun down the line in right.
Navarre blew the game open in the 10th. Eight runners crossed the plate before the Blue Devil defense could record the third out.
Cyrus Grimes started the game and pitched six strong innings. Ryan Cocker got the win with four innings of relief work. Every Raider batter collected at least one hit, led by Brant Tolbert who went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI.
Navarre picked up their fourth win in a row with a 7-0 home win over Fort Walton Beach Wednesday.
