Inside the Raider weight room is a white board documenting the accomplishments of the girls weightlifting team.
Since 2008, the Raiders are undefeated during the regular season and have captured 10 consecutive district titles.
During that period, they have won eight sectional championships and were the state runner-up five times. The Raiders won state crowns in 2013 and 2015.
Below the team accomplishments, eight individual state champions are identified.
“This program has been so successful, we definitely feel the pressure to keep it going,” Callen Taylor said. “This week we received texts from graduates Kylie Shelley and Taelor Smith, each individual state champion, encouraging us for the upcoming season.”
In order to challenge for a title again, the girls know they have their work cut out for them.
It’s why the Raiders haven’t had much time off since winning their last championship in February. The team took a week off before starting up workouts again.
