At the end of the night last Tuesday, with the Navarre Raiders on the difficult end of a four-game loss to Pensacola, head coach Michelle Lee could only wonder what might have been if her volleyball team had played up to its potential.
“We have such a talented team,” Lee said. “With the mistakes we are making, the scoreboard at the end of the day doesn’t reflect who these girls really are. They really are great players and right now we’re just losing that little bit of confidence that we have, and we need that to push our team to victory.”
Navarre put up a fight. It always does. After losing the first two matches 25-9 and 25-17, the Raiders took game three 25-18. They led early on in game four before falling 25-16.
The loss was the sixth consecutive for the Raiders.
“It’s been a bit of a rocky road,” Lee said. “We’re trying to figure out players and their roles.”
