Navarre’s volleyball team was hoping to snap a four-match losing streak last Tuesday when it battled Pace on the road.
The Raiders came up short in that bid, falling 25-9, 25-23 and 25-19 to the Patriots.
In the first game, Navarre made a couple of early mistakes and fell behind, 5-2.
A kill by Lauren Robbins provided a much needed side-out. On the next serve, the Raiders made an unforced error and the Patriots capitalized on it, running off six straight points to grab an 11-4 lead.
The Raiders could never get a rally going and the Patriots won the first game 25-9.
The Raiders regrouped for the second game and the final result was in question until the last point. After a kill by Robbins, the score was knotted at 3-3. When Madison Jones jumped high over the net to block a Patriot hit, the Raiders took a 6-5 lead.
