Navarre’s volleyball team won its home opener with a three-game sweep of Pine Forest last Tuesday.
After playing inconsistently against Milton and losing against Gulf Breeze the week before, the Raiders came ready to play against the Eagles.
“There was a definite improvement in our play tonight,” Coach Michelle Lee said. “We were able to give everyone plenty of playing time and our effort improved in each game.”
The outcome was never in doubt as the Raiders topped the Eagles 25-12, 25-3 and 25-7.
When the Eagles scored a point or caused a side-out, the Raiders seemed to run off several scores increasing the point differential between the two teams.
“Last week we played Gulf Breeze evenly for most of the first game,” Nicole Barrett said. “However, after making some mistakes in game two, we got down on ourselves and did not turn it around. We wanted to put that game behind us as quickly as possible.”
