Raider soccer team records two shutouts, ties with Niceville

Navarre put together another successful week on the soccer field, shutting out Pace and Ocean Springs and then battling fellow regional power Niceville to a tie. The Raiders improved to 4-0-2 overall and are 3-0-1 in district play.

Raiders 4, Pace 0

The Raiders traveled to Pace last Tuesday and blanked the Patriots 4-0.

Jennifer Seward scored the first goal at the seventh minute assisted by Skylar Woods.

Six minutes later, the duo struck again. They were Seward’s third and fourth goals of the year.

The Patriots kept the Raiders out of the goal for the next eight minutes until Hailey Bastian found Kileigh Whited with a pass on the left side. Whited’s sixth goal of the year put the Raiders up by a 3-0 score.

In the 85th minute, Maia Vacks, who is only a freshman, received a pass from Abbey Morgan close to the net and punched in the first goal of her high school career.

Jessika Seward was in goal for the first half and made four saves. Emily Depersio had two saves in the second half.
