Navarre High School’s girls soccer team’s quest for a state championship ended Friday morning.
The Raiders fell 2-0 to Viera in a Class 4A state semifinal at Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne.
Navarre, playing in its first state tourney in program history, was hoping to end the weekend as state champions.
The Hawks are the team moving on, however, after scoring goals in each half to put away the Raiders.
Cassidy Mills gave Viera a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the opening half and Hope Leonard made it 2-0 with just over 35 minutes left in the game.
The Raiders, who won district and regional titles for the first time in history as well, finish the season at 24-3-2.
