Liam Kelly was in class at Navarre High watching a movie when he found out he had landed his first acting gig. His mom shot him a text that included the email from his agent.
“I just looked at it for a minute and said there is no way this is real,” Kelly said.
He asked his teacher if he could leave class for a minute or two. The news had yet to sink in and was still a little overwhelming.
“I said, ‘Can I step outside for a moment? It’s kind of important,’” Kelly said. “My best friend and I went outside and were just dying, freaking out that I had gotten into this movie. I walked into fifth period with no knowledge I was going to be in a movie and walked out knowing I would be. I can’t even describe the feeling.”
Kelly has a non-speaking role in the movie “I Still Believe,” the story of Grammy-nominated singer Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss.
A sequel to “I Can Only Imagine,” it is being filmed in Mobile. It is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2020.
