David Melega will be the first to tell you there is a different feeling surrounding this year’s edition of Navarre’s boys basketball team.
Under the direction of a new coach in Terry Posey, the Raiders also have a new sense of hope and optimism as they head into the new season this week.
“It’s been a great change and a change for the better,” Melega said. “We have a whole new system and we love the new coach.”
Hard work has been the motto of this team through the first month of practice. It has also been a time of learning for both Posey and the players.
“There is a learning curve,” Posey said. “I’m learning about them and they are learning about me.”
But along the way, it’s been a lot of fun.
“They seem to have fun and wins will keep that fun going,” Posey said. “If we can win a few and keep the enthusiasm up, maybe we can hurt someone’s feelings along the way.”
