The Raiders shutout Fort Walton Beach by a 3 – 0 score on Oct. 26 and lost a 2 – 1 contest to Gulf Breeze on Oct. 29. Both games were played at the NYSA field.
Coach Rob Simon, in his ninth year as the Raider girls’ coach, said he is still making roster changes before the regular season begins next week. “We have several of our younger players at these preseason matches so they have a feel for playing with one another under game conditions.”
The Raiders will be twin powered this season. There are three sets of sisters on the team, all of whom include twins. There are three Madril sisters including twins Emily, Lizzie and younger sister Anakah. Other twins include Jennifer and Jessika Seward and Jade and Autumn Slaybaugh. The Slaybaugh sisters had three previous sisters who played for the Raiders.
Simon added several games and tournaments to the Raider schedule to make them more competitive at the end of the season.
