Navarre’s girls soccer team dominated Milton in a 4-0 victory over the Panthers Tuesday night in Milton.
The Panthers could not keep up with the speed of the Raiders. Only the Milton keeper kept her team in the game, coming through with 19 saves.
The Raiders pounded away at the Milton keeper for the entire first half and had very little show for their attack other than a couple of shots that bounced off the post. The Panther keeper made several diving saves to keep the powerhouse Raider offense at bay.
Finally, in the 37th minute, Maia Vacks passed to Brenda Bishop near midfield. Bishop used her speed to pass several defenders and power a shot through the keeper’s legs and into the goal, giving the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Bishop followed her shot and ended up in a pile of three defenders along with the Panther keeper, making sure the ball crossed the goal line.
The second half looked like it was going to be very much like the first.
