The Raiders traveled to Pine Forest on Nov. 19 to face perhaps their closest competitor in the region. The Raiders handled their tough opponent by winning first place in eight of the 10 weight divisions, missing only the 110-pound and 119-pound weight divisions. They also won seven second places and three third places.
Peyton Watson increased her best bench press to 140 pounds in the 101-pound weight division. Her 115-pound clean-and-jerk gave her a 255-pound combined lift and first place.
Cat Henry placed second in the 110-pound weight division with a 240-pound combined lift.
In the 119-pound weight division, Miya Taylor placed second with a 240-pound total. Rachel Privette finished in third place with a combined lift of 225 pounds.
In the 129-pound weight division, Savannah Diel had a 155-pound bench press and 175-pound clean-and-jerk, giving her a combined lift of 330 pounds. Macey Kormely placed second with a combined total of 300 pounds.
Bri Diel, Savannah’s older sister, won the 139-pound weight division with a 155-pound bench press and 160-pound clean-and-jerk, giving her a 315-pound total. Melanie Johnson placed third with a combined lift of 280 pounds.
