Navarre’s girls soccer team sandwiched a loss to Niceville with a pair of lopsided road wins last week.
The first blemish on the Raiders’ record was a 2-0 loss in Niceville Thursday. However, Navarre (5-1) crushed West Florida 6-2 and blanked Pace 5-0.
In a scoring explosion Nov. 19 against West Florida, Megan Kirby scored a natural hat trick. Cami Acevedo tallied two goals. Maia Vacks knocked one home in the 60th minute.
It was a dominant showing for the Raiders, with a pair of hiccups in the first half which ended with the score tied at two.
“West Florida’s two goals were directly off mistakes on our part,” Raider coach Rob Simon said. “We created multiple opportunities that were saved by a really good young GK or just missed.”
The dominance continued in the second half, burying four goals. Hailey Bastian dished out a pair of assists, as did Autumn Slaybaugh. Unfortunately, Slaybaugh went down hard in the scoreless first half of the Niceville game with an injury.
