Navarre wins two last week in girls soccer action

After rolling over their first three opponents by a combined score of 23 – 0, the Raiders faced some stiff competition last week against Niceville, Mosley and Leon. After losing their first game against Niceville, they rebounded back and won a last-minute victory over Mosley and shut out Leon.
Emily Madril continued her offensive barrage, scoring her 14th goal in six games.

Niceville 2, Navarre 1

The Lady Raiders traveled to Niceville on Nov. 3 and suffered their first loss of the season, 2 – 1. It was a revenge game for the Eagles. They had waited since last year when the Raiders defeated them to win the District title.
It was a physical contest from the opening whistle with neither team gaining an edge. Finally, at the 18-minute mark, the Raiders put together three passes that resulted in the first score. Melia Gross stripped an Eagle off the ball at mid field and passed it forward to Carley Lanter. Emily Madril was open in the middle and Lanter found her with a pass. Madil moved to the 18-yard mark and booted a hard shot which eluded the Eagle keeper and the Raiders took an early 1 – 0 lead.
