Eleven Navarre boys weightlifters placed in the top six at the 2A Regional meet Monday afternoon at Fort Walton Beach High School.
A total of 16 lifters competed at the 12-team meet for the Raiders, who finished fourth overall as a team with 32 points. Two-time state champion Choctaw won the meet with 75 points.
Xavier Fernandez and Daniel Bost had the best finishes of the day for Navarre. Fernandez took second at 169 pounds with a total lift of 555 while Bost was the runner-up at 183 pounds with a total lift of 600.
Omari Green came through with a third-place finish at 199 pounds, recording a total lift of 580.
Nathan Crews was one of four Raiders to place fourth. Crews came through with a total lift of 305 pounds in the 119-pound division and Cody Thompson had a total lift of 345 in the 129-pound division.
Marc Struck finished fifth in the 238-pound weight class, finishing his day with a total lift of 595. Josh Carter was fifth in the heavyweight division thanks to his 615-pound performance.
Noah Melendez and Lee Jones rounded out the list of lifters who finished in the top six for Navarre. Melendez (139) had a total lift of 380 and Jones turned in a 485-pound performance.
Bo Hering (219) was also fourth as tallied a total lift of 580 pounds. Teammate Aaron Smith (238) was fourth as well and had a total lift of 600 pounds.
