Half way through the 2015-2016 soccer season, it is clear that if the Raiders want to accomplish their goals of district and regional championships, and a possible state title, they have a lot of work ahead.
While Navarre’s 10-3 record is impressive, two of those losses have come at the hands of district opponents, and two of the wins were by one goal over foes the Raiders could face in the district tournament next month. Navarre is 6-2 in the district.
Washington 3, Navarre 1
The Raiders defeated Washington 1-0 in Pensacola November 14. The Wildcats returned the favor with a 3-1 victory at Bennett C. Russell Stadium the first day of December.
Washington’s Usef Alansari gave the visitors the lead with 22 minutes elapsed in the game.
Despite the fact that the Raiders could get nothing going offensively, they only trailed 1-0 at the half.
The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead with 14 minutes gone in the second half. Only one more minute had ticked off the clock when Washington scored again and put the game out of reach.
Jonah Cruz helped Navarre avoid the shutout when he put in a rebound off of his own shot with 10 minutes left.
