Dakota Middleton has grown up playing baseball in the south. But he will have to get used to playing in the cold, at least early in the season, once he gets to college.
The Navarre High School senior signed with Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, last month but doesn’t expect the weather issue to be that big of a deal.
“When I went up there to visit, it (the temperature) was negative 1. I didn’t think it was as bad as I thought it would be,” Middleton said. “I’m confident I can handle it.”
Dealing with a little cold is worth it because he felt like he will fit in easily with the NCAA Division III Crusaders. He chose Capital over Otterbein and Earlham. Middleton plans to major in computer science.
